Britney Goes Bollywood — Again

Britney Spears, who puts a Bollywood spin on a song in her latest concert tour, has been in the news recently over an “is she or isn’t she?” affair with Mumbai choreographer Sandip Soparrkar.
Spears wears Indian clothes to perform “Me Against the Music” on her current “Circus” tour, which will hit Sacramento April 11, San Jose, Calif., April 12 and Los Angeles April 16.
Spears reportedly started dating Soparrkar last fall, but the Mumbai Mirror published a quote from Soparrkar’s girlfriend, model Jesse Randhawa, saying the rumors weren’t true.
“Britney did come over to India and she and Sandip went away for a few days, but it was purely professional. They were busy rehearsing. I really do wish she’d just leave us alone now,” Randhawa told the Mirror.
The singer, a longtime fan of Indian music, liberally sprinkled bhangra beats into her 2003 album “In the Zone.”
In related news, one of the hottest singles off the “Circus” album, “If U Seek Amy,” has been cowritten by an Indian American lyricist. Songwriter Savan Kotecha, 30, of Austin, Tx.,has put out a press release stating that his lyrics also appear on albums by Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias, and Carrie Underwood.
