"Bollywood would find Chile very attractive and inexpensive for shooting films," the President said during her meeting with Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir here on Wednesday.
Ms. Bachelet also said Chile was presently working on enacting a preferential trade agreement with India, a Raj Bhavan release said.
Chile has signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with India and is keen to increase cooperation with the country in various areas including economy and culture.
Ms. Bachelet told the Governor that MoUs for cooperation in the field of new and renewable energy sources, education, exploration of outer space for peaceful purposes and geology and mineral resources have been signed with India.
Praising India for its progress in IT and other sectors of the economy, Bachelet said her country was working hard to improve the proficiency of teachers in imparting English education so that more people in Chile could learn English as the second language after Spanish. This, she felt, was necessary in view of globalisation.
