Bollywood’s hit machine gets candid

In an interview to TIMES NOW”S Archita Kashyap, the hit machine of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar gets candid about his hits, flops and how he isnt running the race to be the king of the industry.
Another spate of Film awards went by. ‘Singh in Kinng’ was majorly nominated. Did any of it come down to you as being unfair?
When you dont win you start saying “Yes thats biased.” There are times when there are some awards which are very biased to some of the actors. Awards just come, and if you’re performing you perform and then just take your money and go back home. Thats all. I do not believe in that.
Were you disappointed that Chandni Chowk to China didnt do as well as you expected it to?
I was a little bit upset that it did not do well because I gave a lot to this film. Whenever I go back and remember all my films that have done well, there are so many films which were quite pathetic and they’ve done well. Then there are films that are very good that have not done well. At the end of the day I have come to this conclusion that films do well if it’s your destiny.
Do you believe in the numbers game at all?
I feel very uncomfortable with the numbers game. I do not want to be on that side. It’s a shame that some people do play it. I hate that kind of number games. I hate the king-queen game.
